Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

1. Responsibilities of Authors

  • Authors must ensure that their work is original, properly cited, and free from plagiarism.

  • Authors are responsible for disclosing any conflicts of interest related to their submission.

  • Authors should not submit the same manuscript to multiple journals concurrently.

2. Responsibilities of Reviewers

  • Reviewers must maintain confidentiality and provide constructive, unbiased feedback.

  • Reviewers should disclose any potential conflicts of interest before agreeing to review a manuscript.

3. Responsibilities of Editors

  • Editors must ensure a fair and transparent peer-review process.

  • Editors should make decisions based solely on the manuscript’s academic merit and alignment with the journal's scope.

  • Editors are responsible for investigating any ethical concerns, such as plagiarism or duplicate submissions.

4. Plagiarism Policy

  • Manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Global Perspectives in Communication and Media will be screened for plagiarism using free tools like Grammarly or Turnitin alternatives (e.g., Quetext, Duplichecker).

  • Submissions found to contain significant plagiarism will be rejected.

5. Conflict of Interest

  • Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest in writing.

6. Retraction Policy

  • Articles may be retracted for reasons such as plagiarism, unethical research practices, or data fabrication. Retraction notices will be published to maintain transparency.

The Journal is a work of Communication Scholars in Institutions in the U.S. and Nigeria dedicated to free and open access information using free and open access software. It is welcoming to authors and peer reviewers across the world, regardless of institutional affiliation.
